Here's my take:
I don't do friends-only posts on this account. You don't need me to add you as a friend to read all my dirty stories. If I get worried about it, I *might* go to Friends-Only, but I'll announce it if I do.

My friends list is for me. I'll add you as a friend if I'm interested in reading your journal. If you post naked pictures of yourself, I'm much more likely to be interested. If I lose interest, I'll remove you. If you don't post anything, I probably won't add you, even if you've added me.
If you think I'll be interested in your LJ, and want me to add you as a friend, let me know (here or elsewhere), and I'll look. Don't ask me to add you so you can see all my sooper-seekrit posts, because there aren't any. Don't tell me about all your awesome friends-only posts unless you've already added me, though. |
